Announcement
The Suffolk Spice Company is to close.
I am sad to announce that at the end of December 2024,
The Suffolk Spice Company, as we know it, will come to an end.
Over the past 9 years we have had a good deal of fun and I have met many wonderful people who have shared my passion for spices and food in general.
In addition, the spirit of camaraderie amongst my fellow artisan traders on the markets during the cold, wet, snow and even occasionally glorious sunshine, has been an experience I will always look back on with great fondness.
However, away from the markets, 2024 has been a very tough year. A year of change and family pressures has meant our focus has had to shift somewhat and recent events have shown me that in the coming year I am going to be very busy elsewhere both physically and emotionally. As a consequence something has to give and unfortunately I just know I am not going to be unable to give the Spice Company and its wonderful customers the care and attention they deserve.
I will be at the markets advertised on the shop calendar for December and the online shop will be open for orders as well. But at the end of the month I will call it a day.
I want to thank everyone who has supported us of the last 9 years and I hope that we have all gained a little joy from the experience.

The Suffolk Spice Company is a family run business based just outside the beautiful Suffolk medieval village of Lavenham as well as moonlighting in our summer quarters in the French Pyrenees.
Our core focus has been catering to our local community farmer’s markets and country fairs. And now, in order to keep in touch with our loyal customers and hopefully share our enthusiasm for spices, herbs and ingredients designed to complement your cooking and enhance the enjoyment with a wider audience, we have launched ourselves into the online world!
We bring to you a wide variety of products, including our range of spice mixes and herb blends that have been developed, tried and tested by us from a wealth of influences and cuisines, as well as the familiar store cupboard herbs and spices and just occasionally something different and exotic.
We have a desire to learn about the spices of the world, share that knowledge with our customers and built it into the products we make and sell. The Suffolk Spice Company carries a very large selection of amazing and interesting products for you to play with but, we are always willing to learn of new recipes to try and seek out the unusual and hard to find, so if you cannot see it in our store, do not be afraid to ask.
